What age is best for a children's portrait session?

There’s no perfect age—every stage is worth capturing! From toddlers full of cheeky grins to tweens with big personalities, each session is tailored to your child’s age, character and comfort level.

 Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions can be held in my calm and child-friendly studio in Mold, North Wales.

 How long does a children’s portrait session last?

Sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s age and how quickly they settle in. We keep things light-hearted and fun to help them feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera.

 What should my child wear?

Simple, comfortable clothing works best. Neutral or pastel colours, soft textures, and minimal patterns keep the focus on your child. Avoid logos or bold prints where possible. You're welcome to bring a change of outfit too!

 Can I include siblings in the session?

Yes! Sibling portraits are always welcome and make a beautiful addition to your gallery. Let us know in advance if you'd like to include more than one child so we can allow extra time if needed.

What if my child is shy or doesn’t want to cooperate?

Don’t worry, this is very common! I have lots of experience working with children of all temperaments. I use gentle direction, games, and patience to help even the shyest little ones feel at ease and come out of their shell.

Can I bring my child’s favourite toy or comforter?

Absolutely! Bringing along a favourite teddy, blanket, or toy can help them feel more comfortable and sometimes those items make lovely, meaningful additions to the photos too.

 Do you offer themed or seasonal sessions?

Yes! I occasionally run seasonal mini sessions (like Christmas), as well as custom themed portraits. Keep an eye on my social media or sign up to my newsletter to be the first to know.

 When will we see the photos?

You’ll be invited back for a viewing and ordering session at the studio, usually within 4–6 weeks (depending on my workload) of your session. From there, you can choose your favourite images and collection.

 How do I book a children’s portrait session in Mold?

Just get in touch using the contact form or email to check availability. I recommend booking a few weeks ahead—especially for weekend slots or special occasions. To secure your session we require a non refundable £49 session fee, which gets taken off your chosen collection.
